The Ministry of business tell u show to spritual principles can be connected to business. It tell us the story of two great LDS man who had life thier lifes in service of others. They explain some principles, both for the entrepreneur as a person and also for the business world. Those principles have been proved for them in their lives for many years. They both are witnesses of how those principles works in real life. The main idea of the book is help people to be success in the personal life as also in the business world and become a person who serve others in the comunity and the world.

The main principles taught in the book are: Divine guidance in business. The power of convenats. Integrity. The formula and how to get happiness in life. The humility to learn from others. How to have a financial fitness. Time management and a life with purpose. Giving back and service.. Each of those principle are teaching at the same time that Steven A. Hitz and James W. Ritchie (the authors) tell us about their personal story.

Divine Guidance in life – Personal Revelation

The first principles the authors share with us is the importance of personal revelation in life. The authors said that God is our Father in heaven. He has a plan for each of us and He want to help us to become successfuly in the best person we can. In the process of becoming the best version of us we need to follow the impresions or hunches you have in your life. Those impresions are revelation from God to you. When you receieve those kind of impresions is because God is showing you part of His plan to you. The best way to progress in this life is the following those impresions because it would help you to recognize the best option when they apper. It kind of revelation will help you to make the correct choises in life. But it is up to you to follow those impresions. The authors affirm “Hestitation…” talking about the consequenses form don’t follow the impresions “…will only delay your progress”. God can help us, and actually He does every day in our life, to become the best kind of persons we can be.

The Power of Convenants.

The convenants are kind of deals we make with God. You can promise something to him and in return God promises something to us. The real convenants in life are those which are made for a priesthood holder who has been ordain. But every of us can make promises to God in order to improve our life and get close to him. The convenants we did are a representation of our humility and the faith in God that he will help us if we do the right things.

Beware of the Doble Life – Be a person of integrity.

One of the most important things to do in order to keep your convenants is living a life of integrity. A lot of business person fall in the trap of being doble in their life. They can have a family and pretend to be a family meno r woman. But in the office or others places they act different. Even until the point the aren’t faithful to ther wives and husband. In order to receive divine guidance and keep your convenants you have to be faithful to your family, your duties and to yourselve. A person who don’t have integrity in some part of the way will fail and all his life can become a disaster. A person of integrity have to have thier values very clear and always live by those principles.

The  Formula and Hapiness

This principle is one of the most important priciples in the whole book. When you start to read about it you can start to discover the power behind this principles. The formula is what help the authors to achieve thier success in the business world, and they make the promise that each person who live the formula will have hapiness and prosperity in their life.

The formula is composing by six steps.

1)    Get up early

2)    Work hard

3)    Get your education

4)    Find you oil

5)    Make your mark

6)    Get prepare to be of serve

Those six steps in the formula are conected and each of them are very important. When you wake up early you will have a clear and active mind. If you work hard with a clear mind it will help you to make the right choises in order to do always a great job in what you do. If you work hard and you are always educating yourselve, you will have the abilities and talent to do great things that the world will pay you. With your educations, you will be in conditions to find opportunities in your life and when you take those opportunities is when you start to make things happen in your finances. When you are already in the world of business you have to leave your mark in what you do. The people preffer and pay more to those who make a great contribuition to life. And whe you did that you can be able to serve others in a better position. The formula works and is very important that every one use it and apply it in his own life in order to achieve success.

The Value of strong mentors.

The path of entreprenuership is hard. For those you are just beginnign the path of creating a new company or that want to make a life of meaning can be very difficult. That is one of the most important things about having a mentor. A mentor is someone who had walk the path you are beginning. This person have a lot of experience and can help you to go safety by this path. If you choose wise mentors and listen to them you can have a great chanse to overcome difficulties or even, don’t be close to those fails in the path. A mentor will help you a long the way in order you walk for it successfuly.

Finalcial Fitness

If well the money no is the principal objetive of a person, it is very important for all the things he or she does every day in their life. The truth is that the persons who have more money are in a better place to help others. By example and also because they have instruments, or the money, to make a contribuition in the life of others. The authors sostain that one of the principles reason they can give a lor of service to othres in church and also in the comunity is because they have achieve a finalcial independece. They invite every of us to use in a wise way our money in order to receive more each time.

Time management and a life with purpose. – the personal constitution

It is also one of the most important chapter in the whole book. The authors say that evey person can become the kind of person desires. The important thing here is to define what are your core values in life. When you decide what and how you want to be, you should write it down in a kind of affirmation. It will help you to become that kind of person. Is like the act as if principle in your life. In a subconsious way you will become to act like the person you want to become.

Another important principle here is the “productivity pyramid”. It say that you have to define your values after that you have to set long term goals. When you did that you have to fragmenting those long term goals in short term goals and them divide those goals in daily task. Once you have done that you are ready to life the life you want to life. You will use your time wisely and also you will have a life full of purpose.

Giving Back – Service

The idea of having a life with full of purpose, having a great financial fitness, have success in life is not just about become a great person. The main idea is to become a great person in order to help others to achieve thier dreams also. When you serve and only when you do that is when your life beginnig to have real sense.

The book of the Ministy of Business is a great tool for every LDS member and also fot every person who want to live a life full of purpose and full of service to others. It is the way that our Heavenly father want us to life our lifes. The only way to do that is to life by those principles who will help us to have a great life.

Do Business with Ethic

This week I had learned very important things about how a true business man should be. I like the T.V. program call “The Profit” wit Marcus Lemonis. I admire the way this guy make business, impact the life of thousands of people with difficulties, the way he creates something from nothing, but especially the high importance the makes in the trust with the people he makes deals. He always is very concer about the confidence he could develop with the others. Even if a company is a good invest opportunity for him, he will not accept to make deals with people he does not trust. For me, I according to what I have learned this week, one of the principal virtues a businessperson have to have is integrity. For me be a person with integrity is to try other with respect, be a righteous person, say the true in all things and look for the benefit of others, not looking just for a personal interest. It aspect in a company is also very important. If the CEO of the investor in the company don’t thing in their employees the company can make millions, but in a point it will crash. The most importan assest a company could have is their personal. A person without ethics will see persons as just people without dream and emotions who are pay to make a job and that’s it. Nevertheless, a person with ethics will always look for opportunities to help and lift others. They did that creating nice and safe work places for their employees. Giving them a good salary and trait them as a person with feelings, dreams and helping them to achieve those desires.

In some way, I can understand why some business people prefer to ignore some ethics things in order to gain more profits. It is easier to pay less to an employee to create more profits for the company. It is easier to forget pay the taxes and aboid them than be responsible and pay the government for things we feel we won. It is easier to be a natural man than a man of God. But the fact is that if you are willing to live by right principles, your life will be more successful and you will be feel that peace of mind that in the end is more valuable than every other thing in this world. Maybe be honest and a righteous person is more difficult, but in the end you will be close more deal because people will trust you more often and more frecuently. Just the righteous ones can impact and have a positive influence in the life of others. Especially in this world, when many people lie each other, a person with a noble a righteous character can impact the life of those who work with or for him. You always can make profits and be a person with ethic.

Another important thing I will like to say is that you can create a company with high ethics and person oriented if you aren’t that kind of person. A company in a certain way is like their owners. If their owner are oriented to help people, to create value for the society and make a footprint in the world for good, for sure their companies will do the same. The company will create and live some principles that will help their personal to feel good working for them. I have felt that in my company. Actually this week we have our first meeting of the year. I asked my friends –employees- to tell me what they expect this year from me. I don’t want to sound with pride, but they told me they were very happy working with us. They feel as important persons for me company and one of them told us that the best thing of their job to her was to work with us. I make feel good about myself and what we are doing helping the people who work with me to become better person and accomplish their dreams. I think there is also a lot of things for me to improve. I’m in the way of becoming one of the best business people in all the world. I want to do that but with integrity and with a sincere heart to help other to achieve their dreams and leave a footprint in the world.

The first look at the big picture.

This week has been an amazing week. I like what I’m learning in BYU-I. It is very inspired for me. I have had some experiences this week I will like to share in this post, and why not help other to feel the same I’m feeling right now.

The lesson for this week was about the creation of a life of meaning. The readings were a great source of inspiration. The principal point of it was about the star and stepping stones to get there. The start should be seem as the main call you have in this life. It answer the question:

1. 1. Did I contribute something meaningful?
2. 2. Was I a good person?
3. 3. Who did I love and who loved me?

And the stepping stones are what are your steps in order to achieve that goal. It also refert to you job or entrepreneur desires.

Also there is a important frame in all of this and that is your ethics and values. It what will help you to achieve succeed in life without that feeling of emptiness.

It required time to ponder and pray for divine help. Also being sincere with myself was necessary. But it was a great process that is still beginning. Now I can see part of my big picture in life.
Also I saw a video from Randy Pausch Talking about achieve dreams and how to lead our life.
Why do you think Randy Pausch was able to achieve so many of his childhood dreams because the discipline he had and always look to how to accomplish his dreams.

I think one of the principal keys is always been dreaming. Having goals and hihg desires to accomplish something important to oneself. That will make you feel live, will make you wake early and make sacrifices to achieve those dreams. Dreaming is part of being live.

Sincerily I can’t remember about my childhood dreams. I think I was just a kid that want to play all day long. I can say I want to be a police officer. I want to fly a jet, I want to fly like Goku, I want to be like the power rangers and fight like them, etc. I think I have been discover my dreams in this very time of my life. Now life have is more meaningful than years before. I now I know with the help of God those righteous dreams can be accomplished.

Doing the activity of the star and the steppings stones I discover some of undercover dreams. I want to share those dreams.

My ultimate star is based in three things: my family, the Lord and His church and my contribution to the world.

1. 1) My family: I want to have an eternal family based upon the principles and covenants of the gospel, Deep love and respect to each other. Also I will become the best husband to my wife and the best father to my childs.
2. 2) The Lord and His Church: to become, as Brigham Young was called “the lion of the Lord”. In others words is to become a true disciple of the Lord and help to establish his kingdom in earth by helping others to live by the teachings of the Lord
3. 3) My contribution to the world: I will be one of the biggest entrepreneur, leader and guru in the business world, especially here in Colombia. My desire is to become a whole person, give a great example to my fellows and help millions to live by the Lord’s principles, so they can have life in abundance and to draw closer to God.

I know those dreams are 100% posible to accomplish. It will requires hard work and the help of God but I know I’m in the path to accomplish those dreams.

I'm Here to Make Big Things

Reflect upon the things that you are learning and experiencing so far in this course. What are you looking forward to learning and experiencing? What did you learn from the readings and videos this week?

I love what I’m feeling right now. It is like my heart and all my body is burning. It is like a spark of divine light in my life. For years I have known that God is my father and He has a great plan for me. I know I have all the tools to become successful in life. It doesn’t mean I know all things, but it means I’m in Path to it and God will help me in the course of it.

I like too much what I learned about consecration. as Elder Bednar explained is the way we give up the things of this world for the things of the eternity. To give temporal things for eternal things. The Lord wants us to become the best we can and that is only posible through our consecration. We can sacrificed things. Actually, that is a preparation law but consecration is the law in wich we become what the Lord wants for us.

The Lord wants and need people with a high level of competense. This week I have learn about some faithful people who had made a great contribuitions to the world. People who are experts in their fields. People who are true disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ. People I admired profundly. I ask myself why not me? I know that with righteous purpose, the Lord’s help and with a discipline and determination you can achieve great things. Not only for you, but also for your love ones and the humanity.

I know there are some principles which lead to success. My intention is to know and apply those principles in my life. I already know some of them. Someones like pray and have faith. Work hard and Smart. Live with passion and intent and others more. But I know still I have to learn a lot of new things.

I’m only 23 years old. I’m grateful for the opportunities ahead. I know I will make big things and help other to do the same.
